Day 9: Someone who has gotten me through it

No lies, I'm pretty excited that I have finally caught up on my Photo Challenge. This entry is actually on the right date..WOOT WOOT!!!

And I did want to point out that I kinda like to put random title pictures up giving you an idea of what this blog post is about..though I could not find anything good for Day 9. Apparently this guy is known as Day 9...I'm guessing he is a YouTuber...though I had never heard of him before!!! He is kinda scary looking...at least in this picture!!! HA HA

Now that I am finally caught up, I do hope that I can get back in track with my blog entries for this Challenge. I do feel like I have slightly failed already because I have gotten so far behind. But then again, I did take the time to fill in the gaps...so perhaps I'm not a complete lost cause!

Joe and Me on his birthday, November 2009

Although Joe and I are celebrating our 4 years of being a married couple this upcoming fall, we have known each other now for 4 years. Our official "date" of meeting and going out together is coming up next week, which makes me want to plan something special!

Anyways, in the time frame of us being together, Joe has actually seen and experienced quite a bit with me. We were dating when I dealt with the issue of being let go from a job, for not meeting my sales quota. He has seen me through the upheaval of moving from one place as a single girl, to a new place as a couple. He has even seen me when I have dealt with the beginning and loss of friendships here in Germany, besides the obvious of us moving across the world.

Joe has dealt with all of my craziness, both the good type and the bad. Looking at it now, I know he is not only my husband but is one of my closest friends. He will always be there for me...and even if I fuck up (and trust me I have), he still loves me. He still wants to be with me, and considering that divorce rates are super high nowadays...I'm really thankful for it!

Day Eight: What makes you laugh

I think actually is going to be one my favorite blog entries for the Photo Challenge, as Day 8 and Day 10 are tied together. Considering it will be about a fun and quite drunken filled weekend with one of my best friends.

As you know, if you have been paying attention to my blog posts within the past month, I went back to the states to visit my family for about a month.

I know I actually haven't really blogged much about my trip...I have waiting to see if anyone is really interested in hearing about it. Plus it is taking me long enough to get really going into blogging about anything else other than make up! HA HA

However one of my favorite memories while I was back in the states, that will always I mean always make me laugh not only at the memory. But at the mere fact of what is going on!

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh

Photobucket
The Night of the Chalk Incident May 2011

Mind you this picture was taken after alot of alcohol had been drank by myself and my partner in crime at the time, Wingo.

This picture is at the camping ground found at the Silver Strand State Beach in San Diego, CA during Memorial Day weekend. My family tends to like to take their RV and go camping of some sort...their particular favorite is on the beach.

Anyways, Wingo and myself headed off to join my mom at the beach Friday evening, after spending a good chunk of the day cleaning the house (with my younger brother) as a request from my mom. Hence, we were ready to get our drink on once we arrived. This picture was taken about 3 hours after being at the beach...which meant there was at least 5 to 7 shots of tequila and 3-5 beers drank by us.

We were ubber bored and feeling pretty damn good, hence we went on a little walking adventure. Stealing a piece of chalk from one of my parents friends kids, we thought it would be a good idea to randomly tag the ground with various writings.

I thought it would be hilarious to die and have my body outlined...making it a CSI crime scene. Thus I laid down on the ground and Wingo started to draw around me. What made this even more hilarious is a random beach goer passed by and pointed out that she needed to mark the location of my cup as well...since it was a crime scene and all!

Day Five: One of the best days

Going to have to do some back logging of my days, gotta love when a holiday weekend comes and messes up the new little routine I started for myself.

I have decided that the best way to get my blogging for the day done is to do it while I'm enjoying my cup of coffee in the morning. As it's the major down time I really give myself for sure.

So for the next few posts it will be all written on the same day...sorry for that!!!

Anyways let me get to the actual point of this blog entry for the day!

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

Photobucket
Clearlake, CA

Hard to believe that this picture was actually taken and I was there to an extent!!! This is from the weekend before Joe and myself flew out from the United States to make our home in Germany. Joe's mom, youngest sister (of the first 4), and mom's boyfriend lived out in Clearlake which was about 2 to 2.5 hours from where we were living at the time.

We had always been told about how nice the lake was during the summer (as we hadn't been to visit at that time frame yet). And considering we were getting ready to leave for what seemed like forever at the time, 4 years, we wanted to have that memory.

We went out onto the lake in his mom's boyfriend's boat and cruised all around, the water was beautiful and the weather was just perfect. Later on that day we went to another place that was lakefront property to BBQ and hang out. What was nice about that place is that they had canoes, and a paddle boat. Needless to say definately have some funny memories of being at that house!

It was one of the best days Joe and I had together, because it was our first real time being out on a lake together. And one of our last memories of being in California (at least together).

Day 4: What I do with myself

Considering I had some issues with blogging the other day as blogspot decided to take a crap when I was done writing (and little did I know that it hadn't saved). I decided to say F*ck this and take a day off from blogging, which means there are going to be several entries in particular for this day!!!

That and I have been pretty busy with preparing chips and salsa for my friend's birthday party that is later on today. Mind you it's Saturday and I'm blogging in between flipping of the tortillas in the oil (as everyone and their mother loves mine and Joe's homemade tortilla chips and salsa). I do plan on filming an In the Kitchen with Lo in regards to the salsa recipe, just so that I can refer my friends to my YouTube and they can make their own! HA HA

Anyways so this Fourth Day blog really was suppose to occur on Friday...so I guess I should get right into to..since I have one more day to catch up on.

Day 04 - A picture of your night

Photobucket
This is a depiction of a babysitter chasing after a little boy

Yup, I spent my Friday night babysitting a little boy named Wyatt (3.5 years old). I randomly babysit, I use to have a regular steady babysitting job. But as it goes in the military life when it's time to move you go where the military sends ya. And my regular little boy I sat for about a year (Max), moved to the east coast.

Thus, after some thought I decided to put myself back on the market. Now why would I want to babysit, especially with it being summer time. I will give ya some pretty simple reasons

1. It is good to change up the weekend night plans (I include Friday nights as weekends).
Reason being is it can get a bit old of constantly going out with friends, or just chilling at home. Honestly most Friday nights, Joe ends up passing out early because he is tired from his work week. If I so happen get an invitation to go out on Friday, it tends to be a girls night only thing.

2. Babysitting is under the table money.
I mean the only person I really have to tell that I made money is Joe and that just normally to let him know that we have cash now (so we don't have to use our debit card). I believe it's good to have cash on you..just because you never know what might happen. It's quick, easy and not every place takes card.
*Also I am willing to take US dollars or Euro. It all really depends on what the family has on hand (I normally know the exchange rate of that day. I'm not going to overcharge because I think that's just plain rude.)

3. Babysitting is for the most part easy
I don't mind having to cook, feed, bathe, change diapers, play with, read stories to, or reprimand a child I am sitting. Babysitting to an extent is practice for being a parent (as I don't have any of my own besides my dog). I learn what I should and shouldn't do. Besides the fact babysitting allows me to see what other families have their play rooms, kids bedrooms set up. What type of food and snacks they keep in their cupboards, and an idea of a schedule to keep a child on.

Day 3: It's all about Nip Tuck

Decided that I would start off my day with a cup of coffee and working on my blog...maybe I should do this more often! ha ha

Random side note: Thank you to all of my followers here on my blog. I don't know if you read every single entry I have done on this blog. But I know the more recent and upcoming blog posts are going to be more about me..and less about make up. So bare with me...and if you like the variety..then let me know!! I love feedback, whether it's good or bad...just really depends on how you deliver it.

My final random thoughts is one thing about putting yourself on YouTube or the internet in general is being able to deal with the haters, and rude critics. To an extent everyone is a critic in their own particular type of way. And to me, if you are tactful about how you say things (while still being real) you get alot further along in life.

**Enter exasperated sigh** I tried to do this blog post earlier in the day..had it all written out..thought it had saved. And then blogspot started having some MAJOR issues and I lost everything I had written up to my sigh....freaking figures! the internet gods hate me!!!

Okay let's get to the point in this blog post for the day!!!

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

Photobucket
Nip Tuck Lasted for 6 Seasons

Now keep in mind that the real two main characters of this tv series that was shown on FX was Shawn and Christian...while all the other characters were somewhat background noise. As it is my opinion that the show really revoloved around the relationship, both professional as well as personal between the two men.

The actual plot of the first 3rd to 4th season was very drama filled and action packed. When it came to the 5th season Parts One and Two (as the movie writer strike occured during this season, hence the break and amount of episodes between parts) the plot started to get a bit outlandish. And by the 6th season (which was the last season) they are repeating some of the exact same ideas from the beginning of the season.

Now, I could watch this series over and over, from beginning to end and be completely happy. Minus the fact that whenever I do that (cause I have done that a few times) I end up having dreams that Christian and Shawn come and see me!!! NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!!

I HATED the way they ended the actual series, and I'm not going to go into it...just in case anyone hasn't seen it. Or from reading this blog post ends up watching it to see what I'm rambling on about! But it SUCKS...I didn't want it to end like that!!!

Day 2: Need a little help from my friend!

Another day...another photo challenge to follow through with. Boy does this whole actually writing thing feel pretty good.

Gonna go on a random little tangent and just point out that I haven't fully blogged about much about myself this past year. I don't know if it's because I think people won't find me interesting...or if I think people know too much about me they won't want to watch my videos anymore! HA HA

I'm taking the time to do this blog entry, after having a very quick and easy dinner with the mister. It was Taco Wednesdays here in our house...ground spicy turkey taco meat on hard shells with spicy Mexican rice. Sadly no beans...but you know...the mister wasn't disappointed. Nor was there an extra pot to have to clean up afterwards!!! woot for that!

So, I guess I better get to the actual point in my blog posting today...which is DAY 2!!

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

Photobucket
My Mom and Me May 2010 at my cousins college graduation

As cheesy as it sounds my mom is prolly one of the closest friends that I do have. Yeah it is my mom...you got a problem with that??!!!

When I was younger it definitely had more of the "what mom says" goes type of thing. But as an adult our relationship has changed for the better, I can turn to her for advice or just someone to vent to...though of course again it is my MOM!

I guess the biggest double edge sword about your mom being one of your closest friends is that you can't hide or lie from the truth. If something is wrong my mom can read it...whether it's written on my face...or hidden in my voice. My mom will be the first one to ask what's going on, and no matter what it is. I know that she will always be there for me.

I normally check in with my mom once a week on the phone...and once a weekend as well. We will shoot emails back and forth during the week when she is at work...as the 9 hour difference between Germany and California is pretty lame! Considering she is someone who isn't a night owl...trying to call in the later morning here in Germany does not work! I would have to get up pretty early to attempt to catch her at a decent hour (or try to call after getting in from a night out with friends).

I respect and look up to my mom...not only as a mother...but as a woman. My mom has gone through alot in her life, she always puts herself second and her family first. She is a devoted and selfless person, who I only hope I can be like as I get older.

My mom jokes saying that if it wasn't for the fact that she is my mom (and a Libra) that I would be just as crazy as the rest of the female Scorpios that she has to deal with in her life. Maybe she is right...cause I'm not your typical female Scorpio (the rest of them be CRAY CRAY).

No matter what...I'm thankful and very very blessed to have such an amazing woman, and friend in my life....Love you Mom!!!

XOXO

Day One: A little about ME

So my journey off attempting to keep up with my blog starts today, June 28th...because...well because it seems like a good day!!!

The weather is actually beautiful and very sunny, actually to the point of where its rather hot here in Germany. I'm talking like high 80's..yeah I know crazy right?

Most of my friends (who have kids) are either at the local village pool or using their backyards as cool get aways from the heat...while sungoddessing (as we call it..or tanning). While I'm hiding away in my house...doing some laundry. Yup...I'm feeling like a hermit a bit today...but it happens. I went out yesterday when it was a bit cooler...and boy I tell you what. No matter what color your skin is...and how tan you are before hand. The sun when it wants to can get the best of you!!!

Thus I have decided to start off my 30 Day Photo Challenge!!!

So here goes nothing!!!!

Day 01 - A picture of yourself with ten facts

Photobucket
Picture taken on recent trip to the States May 2011 at Silver Strand State Beach

Fact #1 I'm the oldest of two within my family.
More detail: There is a 7.5 year difference between my younger bother and I. And while we didn't get along so well when we were younger, as adults I feel our relationship has become closer and deeper. I spent most of my time with him while I was at home visiting this past May.

Fact #2 I have been a military dependent for overall 24 years.
More detail: My dad was in the military, Marines, for over 22.5 years...though at the age of either 23 or when you graduate college (which I did when I was 21). As a military dependent you lose your military privileges ie medical coverage, shopping at the exchanges, being able to easily get on a military installation, etc. It was with marrying my husband in 2007 that allowed me to become a military dependent again, thus leaving a 4 year gap between college and getting married of fending on my own. Overall, I have had a very good experience as a military dependent, minus a few issues I have with the military system (but that perhaps is for a different blog entry).

Fact #3 I hate canned spinach but love fresh spinach!
More detail: Yeah, I really don't know how that is possible, considering I eat spinach salads at least once a week. But it canned is freaking NASTY! I remember my mom would randomly cook it and I would be forced to have one large spoonful. I would always plug my nose and verses trying to chew it...cause I didn't like the texture. I would pretty much try to swallow it whole...never ever a good idea. I don't understand how Popeye can eat that CRAP!!! Fresh Spinach is the ONLY way to GO!!!

Fact #4 For being Hispanic...I never seem to have a single bean in my house!
More Detail: Random and sadly very true. Alot of my friends here and even back home make fun of me for the fact. I can make a mean salsa, enchiladas, homemade tortilla chips (or Cheeps as we have all known to call them), patron margaritas, and Mexican rice. But for the life of me...I just never seem to have any type of bean in my house (whether canned or dry). I know it's one of my big follies as a cook and as a Hispanic female. I am trying to work on it...I even recently asked a few friends back in California. To share their recipes for made pinto beans....I have just again been too absentminded or lazy to get the items at the grocery store!!

Fact #5 When in doubt I always read outloud an important note or email
More Detail: I'm guessing that is the English major in me that wants to make sure my grammar and the flow of the words is used properly. Or maybe I just want to double check and make sure that I don't sound like a big retard. Nonetheless whenever I can...I do. Call it being insecure of what I'm saying or being picky when it comes to writing. I never send without rereading..and rereading it aloud at least twice!

Fact #6 When I have to babysit I prefer the child to be a boy verses a girl
More Detail: I have been on and off babysitting local military children since we arrived here in Germany about two years ago. I have sat kids of all different ages, sizes, and sexes. But I do prefer little boys verses little girls. Why you ask? Simple...boys are more resilient to playing outside, rough housing, and tend to mind a bit more a female sitter (as they are use to their mothers being the one in charge of their reprimanding and whatnot). It has been so much easier to play along with a little boy or even watching them play with their toys and not require or demand attention. Verses a little girl, who will always want you to go along with whatever she is doing...because most little girls want to be princesses. And a princess always has all the attention!

Fact #7 A reoccurring theme in my dreams of the past year rotates around X-Men
More Detail: Call me crazy...cause I totally am willing to agree with you on that one. In the past year I have had at least half a dozen dreams where somehow I'm either an X-Men character or the characters from the comics play a significant role in the dream. Normally these dreams are pretty action packed and vivid, to where I wake up from the dream...quite uncertain where I am at. And NO, I don't watch the movies or read the comics the night to week prior of me having the dream. Apparently my subconscious is trying to tell me something...and I still haven't figured out what it's trying to say!

Fact #8 I plan to have my back eventually all tatted up!
More Detail: One thing about tattoos is they are quite addicting! I got my first one when I was 18...something small and girly. Looking at it now...I wish I was more creative with my idea...and really if I want to I can cover over it. But my back is what I'm really looking forward to actually working on. I'm suppose to get a matching tattoo with Joe that will go on my right shoulder (as I have a current tattoo that is matching to my cousin on my left.) I want to get a lower/middle back piece of a dragon and phoenix....there is a meaning behind it. If you want to know just ask. And then some Japanese Kanji as well separating the two different pieces on my shoulders. Of what statement...I hadn't quite decided yet. I have played with the idea "Survival is living with no Regrets" or something like that.

Fact #9 I am a camera whore!
More Detail: There are very few times in my adult life where I do not bust out a camera to snap a quick photo. Whether it's on my Iphone or my hot pink Kodak camera, a picture will be taken. I don't necessarily have to be in the pictures...though of course I do try to at least get in one. I just like to have pictures to look back at later. My current screensaver is of different photos of this year being out with friends.

Fact #10 All my major relationships have originally started from online
More Detail: Yup, call me crazy but I was advenurous enough in my dating career to actually rely mostly on the wonderful world of the internet to find guys to date. All my serious and steady boyfriends (minus my husband) were found in old school AOL chat rooms! It still makes me chuckle when I randomly hop on an old screen name on either my AOL or Yahoo and get an im stating "A/S/L".

Hope You enjoyed a little extra info on yours truly! See what Day 2 brings!

Trying something a little different

After much thought, I have decided I am going to take on the 30 day Photo Challenge and verses putting it up on my personal Facebook. I will be posting it here on my blog. I hope with this personal challenge it will force me to actually properly attend to my blog.

I have been playing catch up it seems since I got back from the states for almost a month now, with a random comment here and there either on my YouTube channel or on my twitter. Saying how people have missed my videos...when will I be doing more...In the Kitchen's or Life in Germany.

Plus I have seen a ton of different people do the photo challenge, so I figured what the heck...might as well jump on the bandwagon as well and ride this one out. I could choose to start this on the 1st of a month as to make it easier...but since I'm pretty random. I might as well start now!!!

Hence the below is the information of how the 30 Day Photo Challenge works. Pending on how well I do this, I might move on to a different Challenge (song of the day, vlog of the day...whatever). Plus I'm always likely to start a project...but not necessarily always finish it. So posting it on my blog...will not only make me accountable for my challenge. But allow any of my followers to get to know a little more about me!!

If you are reading this and haven't done this Challenge yet...or if you have and didn't follow through completely. You are more than welcome to do it along with me!!! It will be fun!!!
