Hurry Hurry...Get them while you CAN

So as I was reading my Facebook Newsfeed, I noticed a HUGE and important link that I just had to share with everyone!!!

As everyone knows, I'm a huge Glamour Doll Eyes Fan....I have done several tutorials using their shadows. I even have a Shadow Tower within the collection...which of course brings me to my biggest point!

Vee, the lovely owner of Glamour Doll Eyes, is currently in the process of relocating. However she has decided she needs to do a little bit of clearing out of products in stock. She has sadly decided it is time to retire (aka discontinue) the Shadow Towers that are offered.

However that is great as they will be a 25% off of their normal prices. Remember shadow towers come in 3, 4, 5, and 6. All towers are named after a person, either YouTuber, Beauty Blogger, or Glamour Doll Eye girl/boy..thus the colors in whatever named tower (are colors this person picked to be in their tower).

Yup, I do have a tower...and as I am sad to see it go. I'm content as I have one in my own personal collection as memorabilia.

Anyways, there are limited amount that will be on sale. So if you haven't tried out Glamour Doll Eyes or if you just want to add some more lovely shades/towers to your collection take advantage of this sale!!!

Some tower favorites of mine are:

Jacqueline Tower (AKA YouTuber brilliantbrnette81)

Lorris Tower (AKA YouTuber LorrisB)

Phyrra Tower (Phyrra the amazing beauty blogger)

**Keep in mind Vee will still need some days to get the products out in the mail. And when she is fully settled into her new place, she will reopen the site to purchase the rest of the collections.**

FOTD: Tarnished Gold

Today was a pretty productive day...which for a Thursday never happens! I got my business for the day of errands running, gym time and some much needed make up time in!!! I'm happy because I even decided to film the look that I came up with...as I have been recently this summer been rocking the neutral look.

Course with it being tutorial worthy...I decided to "glam" it up a bit...so that it can be worn going out or for a special occasion. But because I'm me....I would wear this any old day!

I wonder if I should've done a strong pretty black liner verses smudging the black pencil into the lash line...Guess I will try doing this look again and see which version I like better!

Photobucket

Figure I would sport a funky hairdo with the look...even paired it off with some earrings I haven't even worn yet!! WOOT WOOT!

Photobucket

Overall, I think the look is pretty...could easily smoke out the crease more and make it more vampy for the evening time.

**Side note, I loved the way the Glamour Doll Eyes "Foil Me" got the pigment to stick...though I'm leery about the actual quality of the pigment I chose today to use. Glee is the only pigment I have left from Still Glamorus (as I swapped someone from the states and gave them all the others I had, minus Glee). As I thought Glee was an interesting color and at the time I did not have any loose shadows similar (I do think I need to swatch my golds and see what I have now).
Using the "Foil Me" really made the color pop as well as adhere to my lid..though I think I used almost too much when I initially started on the eye that I recorded and had to fix it once I turned off the camera. I think a big issue with that was the fact I used my Sigma flat shader brush and that thing picks up a TON of product (which is a good and bad thing). Have to try a a different brush with Glee and see if it was the tool, or the product!!! HA HA

About that time again: March Giveaway

So with the ending of basketball season, my countdown for my yearly trip to the states is in full force.

As is my trying to catch up on blog posts, videos and emails. It's crazy how easily one can get so busy with one thing..that everything else seems to slide on by!

Thus, I knew it was time to get another Giveaway started on my YouTube channel...as I wont be doing any in the time frame that I am visiting the states. Which will be from the late middle of April til early June...I know I'm so excited!

Plus I just recently posted my EPIC haul video where I show a ton of different products I have purchased in the past few months (and I gave up buying make up as my lent sacrifice..and I know that doesn't seem like much...but for someone who likes to buy at least one thing a month of make up...it will be a bit tough).

But one of the most important purchases that I to an extent purposely left out of the haul was my Lorena Shadow Tower from Glamour Doll Eyes!

If you watch my YouTube videos, you know that I ADORE Glamour Doll Eyes...that Vee is one of my favorite people and that well I have a very large and extensive collection of GDE's. But as luck would have it I never actually owned my OWN Shadow Tower..don't know how I did that. But with my order of Glamour Doll Eyes products (when she released a bunch of new colors) I ordered a Tower...originally for my subscribers..

But Vee is awesome and amazing and sent a second tower, so that I could actually keep one for myself...thinking about it now I said it totally different on the video below...but whatever works! Vee no matter what rocks because she is totally hooking me and my subbies up!!

So without futher adue...let me get the rules of my giveaway on here with the video!!!

Rules for Giveaway
  • Must be a Subscriber to my YouTube Channel
  • Must be 18 and up, or have parent permission
  • One Comment ENTRY ALLOWED...comment must state the following:
"My favorite Glamour Doll Eyes Shadows are...(insert your favorite)"
You can have up to 4 shadows listed as your favorites

If you have never used or ordered Glamour Doll Eyes Products before go to the website and tell me what colors you want to try out!

This giveaway is open INTERNATIONALLY

Dates Giveaway runs from:

Glamour Doll Eyes: Swatches and Thoughts

With the month of December comes several exciting times. And for this make up lover and collector, nothing got me more excited than the release of new colors on Glamour Doll Eyes!

Yes, the lovely and amazing Vee, Creator &Genius, of the oh so lovely brand is a MAD woman. And when I say MAD I mean it in the sweetest, most loving way.

Vee by far has proven that she is a creative and ubber savvy business woman. Not only releasing two HUGE Hit collections, 80's Child and Big Cities. But she has released several new colors to the site. Now the colors I purchased in this small little haul was mostly the colors I did not already have in my own personal collection (which includes the Twi Shadow Perfect Cure...somehow I misplaced this shadow...hate it when that happens).

Overall there were a total of 7 new colors released in the line, which 4 of the 7 were part of the limited edition Halloween Sets*.
**If you are interested in reading a bit more about the Halloween Set then check in my previous blogs. They do include swatches of the colors and first thoughts and impressions of the colors**

Another key point I want to bring to your attention is the new labels that are found on the jars of Glamour Doll Eyes Products. Vee had a contest a little while back, seeking the aid of creative followers and subbies to help her create a new look for GDE labels. With the release of new colors and the "reopening" of the website (as she had it down during her trip to southern California), all products will have the new labels.

As a side note, I would like to also state that when I received these shadows (which were sample sizes), they came sealed. Another new addition that the lovely Vee has added to her products, which shows customers that they are receiving neatly packaged and sanitized products! HUGE THUMBS UP! Plus it ensures that the jars will have a harder time spilling in transport..and since mine is traveling all the way to Germany. I know I greatly appreciate the change!

So the newly released colors include:
* indicates I have previously blogged with pictures of swatches of the colors
Brusied*
FrankenGlamour*
Infectious*
Undead*
Dazzle Me
RoxxCandy
Rocket

With this purchase I decided to order Dazzle Me, RoxxCandy and Rocket. So let's get into some swatches and thoughts!!

How this will work is I will post pics of the products (in their jars), pics of swatches, give you my description of the color and then the site's official description will be marked with (*). I also want to point out these items were swatched Dry on ELF Essential Eyeshadow Primer (the one for $1).

See New Label. The label is cute, the only thing I do miss is the ability to see which color I am reaching for!
Photobucket

Dazzle Me-nudey gold with a TON of gold shimmer.

Photobucket
It reminds me alot of Bare Naked...another GDE color. The major difference is Dazzle Me seems to be a more subtle nude, making it a great highlight color.

The amount of shimmer in the shadow though is AMAZING, whichever angel I moved my hand the light was constantly reflecting and kept my eye fixated on the color! I think if this color was applied wet it would be even better!

*Dazzle Me is a light beigish sheen with silver shimmer

Photobucket

RoxxCandy- Silver Sky Blue with hints of silver shimmer and glitter. Tons and Tons of Glitter which include, blue, purple and green

Photobucket
RoxxCandy is an interesting color as when it is swatched on my skin (NC15-20 at the moment) it seems to take on more of a silvery color (with just a hint of blue). But looking at it in the jar I can totally tell it is a soft blue, it's always interesting how that happens.

Again another amazingly packed shimmer filled Blue silver that just screams highlight or inner tear duct eye brighter. I think it will be a great color Wet all over the lid, I would also love to see this color over a black base. Perhaps then the blue will POP more! Overall, very pretty..I'm just a little sad that it doesn't show as nice on my skin tone.

*RoxxCandy is a very light blue with silver, green and purple sparkles

Photobucket

Rocket-mixture of a blue grey color with a undertone of gold or green. It's hard to tell as it seems to change with the light. TONS of Shimmer though it appears to have a more satin finish.

Photobucket
Again this color reminds me of another GDE...Pistol Pistol. I think its the underlying greyish color, mixed with the shimmer, especially when it is blended out. The major difference between Rocket and Pistol Pistol is the undertone is more multi colored with Pistol Pistol. While Rocket has more of a golden/green (maybe I'm seeing green..but I swear it kinda has a green sheen on my skin).

Another color that would look GREAT applied wet or on top of a black base, as I think the true nature of this color would POP. I think this could make a good lid color or be blended into the crease (of what type of look...I'm not quite certain).

*Rocket is a very unique color. It is almost a gray with blue and dark dark purple undertones with gold shimmer. Very complex color

This ends the newly released colors.

However, since I haven't done much blogging in regards to the Twi-shadows I did want to include the swatch and thoughts of the additional shadow I ordered.

Twi-shadows are just like the regular shadows in the Glamour Doll Eyes line, however these particular colors are inspired by the characters of the series Twilight.

Photobucket

The Perfect Cure Inspried by Carlisle (the father of the Vampire Cullen family)-Medium brownish gold with golden shimmer

Photobucket
This color is interesting because it has a texture of a satin...but the color output of a matte (if that's easy to explain..ha ha). Definately is a crease color....or perhaps a lid color if you wanted to do a fun dark smokey brown.

This color would look amazing wet...I'm still not quite certain how I don't have this color with my other Twi-shadows. I'm thinking I swatched it...decided it wasn't for me and swapped Cookie for something else (cause I'm silly like that). So it is only right that I get it back into my collection...as it's always good to have a nice brown shadow around!

*The Perfect Cure This color is a medium brown with a low sheen, almost matte, with a tiny bit of gold and green sparkle.

Final Thoughts on New Colors

I look forward to playing with them as the newest addition to my collection of Glamour Doll Eyes. I think it will be actually a little more of a challenge for me to come up with looks using these new colors as they are just JAMMED packed with SHIMMER.

I know I know, how in the world is that possible....for there to be too much SHIMMER in shadows..and there isn't really. I just think as time goes along and as Vee continues to add colors to her collection, the colors are getting more and more AMAZING!

The biggest question on my mind right now...is how will she top these new jewels?

XOXO

Holiday Look #1 2010

With the holidays now just around the corner...I decided to jump on the band wagon of trying to create some easy to wear Holiday appropriate looks. So far I have done two...I'm hoping to try and do two more before the New Year...but that really depends on how much time I devote to working on my hobby.

The one good thing about it being just me and the hubby is we can both do our own thing on the actual holiday themselves for a bit...get back together to hang out. Of course if we had plans with others that is one thing...but as of right now. We are going to be sticking at home and enjoying the day off!

Anyways, the first look I created for the Holiday season is a pretty simple semi dramatic smokey look using of course one of my favorite mineral lines....Glamour Doll Eyes. I want to state that I actually got the idea for this look from another fellow YouTuber named Chelsea AKA Macismycrack. However I did change it just a bit...as in used a different color. But I still like to give credit where credit is due!

So with all that said here is the look!
Photobucket

Photobucket
I used only two shadows to create the smokey eyes.
Glamour Doll Eyes shadow Pistol Pistol
a marvelous and magical, gun metal grey with a ton of rainbow shimmer
Glamour Doll Eyes twi Shadow Skin of a Killer
a lovely shimmery and sparkley soft white

Photobucket

Photobucket
A way to make this eye really pop is adding some false lashes as to make the dramatic look even more feminine. I don't know what it is about false lashes but whenever I wear them I always feel very girly and very glamorous. Maybe because it is easier to bat my pretty eyes!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I have been told this look could be considered too dramatic even for evening time. But I think to each their own. I rocked this look during the day...but definitely think it is more evening time appropriate as it would look great with a cute dress or sexy skirt suit. I personally almost wore this to Joe's Christmas Squadron Party but decided on a bright eye look (which might be making an appearance on the blog and youTube channel as I have been obsessed with the palette I used to create the look).

One more time the final look
Photobucket
I do really like wine colored lips especially with the fall and winter season. So put this with a soft wine that I think really compliments the smokeiness!

Below is the actual video of how to create this look yourself!

Birthday Goodies: I'm a LUCKY GIRL

So, with the closing of November in a few days. I have decided it was time to get cracking on getting up the little haul I have been saving from my birthday!

Considering my birthday was November 7th, I am beyond overdue for this blog..so without further adue let's get into the basics.

For my birthday itself, considering it fell on a Sunday I decided I wanted to go down to Ramstein base. So Joe and I spent about half the day down there, having a nice dinner at Marconi Grill (which btw is the whitest Italian food chain possible...and that night we didn't even have Italian food...had a nice steak).
We did some light shopping, mostly just trying to see if there was anything worth my while to pick out additional to my birthday!
**I will have a few separate blog entries going into more detail of some of the products, swatches and what not**

From the Hubby:

I did get two major things I was lusting after for my bday from the hubby, the first being the entire collection of 80's Child Pigments from Glamour Doll Eyes (pics for swatches and a more in depth view of this collection will be on a future blog entry).

Photobucket
Considering both Joe and myself are children of the 80's it only seemed appropriate that I have this collection for my 28th birthday. Besides the fact that I have an extreme weak spot for Glamour Doll Eyes products, so with the twit pics Vee was putting up of these lovely shadows. I had them listed as my #1 birthday present. In all honesty if I had only received these shadows for my bday I would've been totally happy...though of course my hubby is awesome. And knows the way to my heart is to spoil me :)

I also recieved the 15 Ultra Shimmer Palette from Sedona Lace.
Photobucket
What really made me want this particular palette from Sedona Lace is the face that these shadows were shimmer based (also satin based) and that they came in such an array of some of my favorite colors to use.
Photobucket
I personally think brown eyed girls can pull off most colors, however Purples and Greens look amazing...and so do blues. Hence, after watching a video tutorial done by the lovely Vee, owner of Glamour Doll Eyes, I knew I just had to have it. I actually had this palette on a maybe wish list since I saw its release on Sedona Lace website. I just hadn't really seen it before (as no other major make up line that sells the premade make up palettes had this available).

I am very glad to have received it for my bday, I think it is a great addition to my personal collection. The price itself, before using the code that was being promoted at the time it was purchased, is a good deal, $14.95.

I have done a few looks in my everyday looks that use either entirely it or most of it, so I would recommend checking it out.

From My Parents:

My parents paid for my trip to the states last year, stating it was a birthday present for 2010. So I was totally content with receiving a card from them and a phone call. However, they were awesome to wire some money for both my birthday, Joe's birthday and our anniversary so that we could do what we wanted. So their money paid for our dinners out on our birthdays and I was able to get a new foundation and concealer that I had been eyeing. (No picture there, however I am still thankful for their gift).

From Cookie:

Now, I honestly didnt expect anything from any of my friends here in Germany. However, Cookie made sure to hook me up with some goodies!

Photobucket
The biggest surprise and that is what made me UBBER happy was the actual palettes in this present! Sleek Palettes!

It's funny, I had mentioned several times to Cookie that I really wanted to try their products out (from the first time she did a make over on me using her Bohemian Palette on me from a TwoSome Tuesday video).

I received both the Storm Palette
Photobucket
Which yes this palette had a little accident on the way to being shipped to Cookie, the mirror broke. Honestly it makes no difference to me, as I really don't use the mirrors provided in palettes anyways.
The colors in this palette are all very metallic, mostly satin/shimmer with about 3 matte eyeshadows. I think that this palette is great for doing smokey eyes or a neutral look.

I also received the Sunset Palette
Photobucket

Again another great palette which had a bit more of shimmer and satin based shadows with bright and very pigmented matte shadows. The color that of course draws anyone's eye when you first open the palette is the bright blue and orange. At first I was a little under certain of...however after playing with the palette a little bit. I think these are great choices to have with the rest of the rustic colors...which of course is great because rustic looks great on me!

Within the goodies included, some HIP lipgloss (which I had never used before), a glitter Eye Pencil from Pop (which is a UK brand) and the NYX cupcake lip balms.

Overall I felt very loved and very special that Cookie had thought of me on my special day.

From my Godsister & her hubby:

I didn't expect to received anything from any other family that hadnt asked me what I wanted for my bday, so boy was I surprised at what came in the mail! Mind you I didn't do a Mail Time video as this was a birthday present, and I knew I would be doing some sort of blogging about it anyways!

Photobucket
My Godsister made sure to cover all different choices of products, everything from a rose scented candle (which I burn in my room whenever I have a client over for a make over) to a ton of make up!

The item that catches my eye the most, as I do enjoy everything from her and her hubby, is the Stila Palette!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Another first for my collection a Stila Palette, I thought it was also unique because it was based off October's Breast Cancer Awareness (all the colors had names related to the idea). Besides the palette (if I'm not mistaken) some of the proceeds from the palette sale went to Breast Cancer Research.

I have heard mixed reviews about Stila products, so it is nice to have my own so that I can formulate my own opinion of it. I have used the palette once so far and so far so good!

From my Aunt:

My Aunt asked me what I wanted for my birthday so I kept my answer quite short, as she reminded me a few times that times were tough for her. Thus, I ended up with some comfy and very purple pjs and Mac Fluidline in DipDown (the brown Liner).

Photobucket
Photobucket

I know I know, I'm not suppose to give into the MAC thing...however I have been wanting for a long time a good brown cream liner. And I tried Mac's Fluidline when I first was introduced to make up from my roomie back in 2007, I gave it a go back then. And FAILED...however with alot more knowledge of make up and the proper application I figured it would be okay to try it again.

I'm not saying I will go back whole heartedly to purchasing MAC products, however the ban I have held on the company is slowly lifting. I'm not saying I will use my own personal money to buy the products, however if it's a gift....I can't really say no! LOL

**there are some other goodies that I received that will be in the next blog posting of my bday goodies. So keep an eye out for that**

Overall, I am very thankful and very lucky to have had such wonderful people give me such great gifts. I couldn't ask for anything more!!!!

XOXO

FOTD: Glamour Doll Eyes Using My Shadow Tower

Another day, Another opportunity to play in my Glamour Doll Eyes.

From previous posting I have mentioned about shadow towers, so you will know that I was lucky enough to be asked by the lovely Vee to make a shadow tower.

I chose some basic colors, Bare naked, Chocoholic and Fabulous!

So it would only be appropriate that I randomly rock my tower when I feel so inclined to. With the other week being my vacation (ie Birthdays and Anniversary week off together). Joe had decided we should go down to Trier (one of the oldest cities in Germany) and check out the hookah bars/lounge.

Yes, I do smoke hookah. Flavored tobacco is still just as bad as regular tobacco, but I figured how often do I get to say I went to a hookah bar/lounge in Germany. Thus, Friday night was our DATE NIGHT!

I figured what the hell, might as well rock some GDE's. Seriously even if I am having a bad day, I reach for my Glamour Doll Eyes and I instantly feel better!

Photobucket
I think Fabulous! makes an amazing Liner..especially for BROWN eyes!

Photobucket
If you have coordinating accessories it does really finish off the mostly neutral eye!

Photobucket
As you can see I applied Fabulous! wet to both the upper and lower lash lines. Making sure it was a winged look...a little tricky with a brush (at least for me).

Photobucket
I applied Bare Naked all over the lid wet and then blended Chocoholic into the crease. Bare Naked is a very pretty color dry, but wet it takes on this amazing metalic golden sheen. Then using Chocoholic, which is a pretty warm brown, to blend into Bare Naked. Pending on how heavy you apply Chocoholic, it can take on a warm metally brown to a deep Brown.

Photobucket
I could see why Joe at one point asked if I had on more shadows than just the aqua liner, as Bare Naked and Chocoholic seem so light compared to the brightness of the Fabulous! I just think that if you are going to have such dramatic liner, you want something softer on your lids.

Photobucket

I paired off the eyes with some strong pink lips, using my monthly favorite NYX LipLiner in Fuschia and topped it off with Glamour Gloss Scene Queen.

Overall, I enjoy rocking my tower when I'm feeling "lazy" but want a little bit of make up!

FOTD: Glamour Doll Eyes 80's Child

I actually did this look a few weekends ago (ie Halloween weekend) but with this week of my mini vacation. I got pretty lazy when it came to blogging, so I figured it was time to get cracking down on some of these Glamour Doll Eyes looks I have been hording! he he

I received my 80's Child Collection the week prior to Halloween and decided that it was time to play with the colors. Now, if you haven't checked out the 80's Child Collection from Glamour Doll Eyes, you are missing out on some amazing SHIMMER FILLED COLORED FUN! And considering that I was a child of the 80's (and these shadows are based off of some of mt favorite shows as a child. I had to get them for my birthday.)

I felt pretty feminine that day, I actually decided on my shirt and accessories before I did my make up (normally it's vice versa). So keeping the pink in mind and wanting to use the 80's Child Collection shadows I came up with this kinda fun and super easy look.

Not really certain what to call it, I asked Joe and he was at a lost! that NEVER happens! he he
Photobucket
Products used for this FOTD:
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Orche
MAC Fix + (to wet the shadows & make liner)
Glamour Doll Eyes 80's Child Shadow in Romper (all over lid)
Glamour Doll Eyes 80's Child Shadow in Berrywood (in crease)
Glamour Doll Eyes 80's Child Shadow in Shimmer (as highlight & inner tear duct)
Glamour Doll Eyes 80's Child Shadow in Vanity (as liner for top & Lower lash lines)
MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating
Lancome Deficiles Mascara in Black
Photobucket

Going to post some pictures of the Eyes in particular, since it's all about the eyes in this look anyways! I know with such a bright liner, one would opt for false lashes. However I think this can be done as an everyday fun look!
Natural Light
Photobucket
Photobucket

I believe that blue shadows look really great with Brown eyes, it just seems to draw attention.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I didn't want to over do wing in this eye, just because then it would REQUIRE lashes in my opinion. So I kept it small (compared to how I normally do colored liner looks).
Photobucket
Photobucket
One thing I love about Glamour Doll Eyes shadows is the fact that they make such great eyeliners! Vanity is beautiful blue with silver sparkles, and when its applied wet it takes a neon blue that just really POPS!
With FLASH
Photobucket
Photobucket
Using Shimmer as a highlight and eye brightener in the inner tear duct (in my opinon) finishes off this look. It adds just enough shimmer and glitter to the eye, plus with its multi colored sparkles (yellow, red, blue, purple, pink) it was just perfect!

**For the rest of the face I paired it off with some light pink cheeks using my NYX Blush in Pinky and for lips I decided on a recent newest go to, NYX Lip Liner in Fuchsia topped off with Glamour Gloss in Scene Queen**

Overall, I really liked the combination of these shadows together! I hope to give myself some more time sometime soon and come up with another fun 80's Child FOTD!!

Photobucket
