Halloween Make up and More

Although it is really Halloween, I am posting pictures from the Halloween Party that I attended last night.

A collection of a bunch of military men, women, their spouses and children + costumes+ a little alcohol for those who wanted to add a little fun = a really good time!

Now as sad as this sounds, I actually suggested to Joe of what he should be for Halloween. I came up with the idea more than a month ago. The only items we had to pay for were the colored contacts and the wig. I happen to find the bright solid tie at the attic on base. Overall spent on Joe's costume 40 bucks and of course the time of which to apply his make up to get him into character. I'm not gonna lie, I was overall pretty proud of myself. Joe looked dead on to Manson.
Photobucket
Make Up used in this look:
Mix of White face paint & Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in 001 Ivory
ELF Studio HD Loose Powder
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Orche
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Slate
Coastal Scents 88 Eyeshadow Palette
Wet N Wild Cream Liner in Black
Cover Girl Waterproof Lash Blast Mascara in Black
Milani Metallic Eye Pencil in Black
NYX Girls Round Lipstick in Electra

PhotobucketThe longest part of this whole make up process was glueing down his eyebrows (which he majorly trimmed them down to help me out...though now it looks like he doesn't have any...cause they are short and blond now).

My costume choice was actually decided the night before the party! My original costume choice was originally going to be a naughty school girl, appropriate because Marilyn Manson went to private school all his life (just in case you didn't know that). But sadly the dress I had wasn't big enough for my bust so I had to go with a back up look. Now I did a mini fashion show for Joe the night before and I let him choose. Since I was going to be on his arm or by his side most of the night, what he wanted to see me in!
Photobucket
Needless to say Joe picked something short, leather and sexy!

Photobucket
That showed alot of cleavage! ha ha

Overall, we had a really good time hanging out with Joe's coworkers. Took some homemade pizza that got eaten within the 1st hour we arrived!

Here are some random pictures from the night! Always an interesting time letting my hair down!
PhotobucketI like the evil/dark boys! he he

Photobucket
The boys striking a pose!

Photobucket
Yeah lol Dont know whats going on there?!

Though I had my own fun! he he

FOTD: Glamour Doll Eyes

Since I worked the later shift today, I figured I had enough time to play with my war paint! Considering I had yet to actually apply the lovely Limited Edition Halloween Set 2 shadows to my face...I took the opportunity!

Now the look I came up with today is honestly pretty plain, though I wanted to use my favorite shadows from the Halloween Set 2, which are Undead and Satan's Sheets.

I again had to tame the unruly beast (aka my hair)...cause let me tell you what...me and my bangs aren't really getting along. Apparently they only really like to listen to my hairdresser and her flat iron...for me they just like to go crazy. So after a failed attempted to get straight bangs, I again pined them up and then kinda half ass attempted to victory roll the two sides. With the rest of it, I threw it into a messy braid...again the most important thing was it was in control....and out of the way.

Considering the top I wore wasn't necessarily low cut, merely a slit across the bust...so showing just a hint of cleavage (if you got it semi flaunt it). I decided to rock the longer dangling Konplott earrings...I like the combination of the cross, skull and heart.

So without further delay here's what the face of the day looked like
Photobucket

I tried out my Almay Smart Foundation again...I think I like it. It gives a lighter coverage than I normally wear...but isn't nearly as light as using just a tinted moisturizer. Plus I'm also trying out a new addition to the make up collection (I have read/watched enough reviews on the product to make me genuinely interested in trying it out) Maybelline Mousse Concealer. I have used it twice so far and I am liking it!

Photobucket
For the rest of the face I contoured with ELF Bronzer in Warm Tan. I used Wet N Wild's Color Icon Blush in Berry Shimmer, NYX Mosaic Highlighter to highlight.
It's funny, I never really saw myself as a drug store make up lover when I first started getting into using make up more frequently in my rountine (as I was a MAC only make up collecter). However I am a converted Mineral Shadow and drug store brand lover!!!

Anyways I have rambled on long enough about the face that I better get to the good stuff!

Photobucket
Products used:

MAC Paint Pot in Soft Orche
Glamour Doll Eyes Satan's Sheets all over lid
Glamour Doll Eyes Undead blended into crease
MAC eyeshadow Blanc Type as Highlight
Glamour Doll Eyes Graveyard as liner (this is from the Halloween Set 1 collection)
MAC Fascinating Eye Kohl in waterline
Lancome Definicils Mascara in Black
Red Cherry Lashes #66

Photobucket
Considering I wanted it to be reminiscent of a Pin Up look I opted for white in the waterline...however I do think this could easily transform into a night look by smudging black eyeliner on the lower lash line (as well as in the waterline). Perhaps even lightly dragging a bit of Graveyard to set the eyeliner (giving it more of a greyish effect verses it be so black).

Photobucket
To finish off this look I used a fun pink, NYX LipLiner in Fuchsia and on top of that I added just a bit of Glamour Gloss in Fierce on top.

Fierce is a fun greyish/silver hued lipgloss with shimmer, that added on top of Fuchsia gave it a nice purpley pink look.

( I will post a pic of a swatch of this lipgloss tomorrow)

*Glamour Gloss in Fierce- silverly purple gloss coconut flavored

Just a side note, currently the Glamour Glosses aren't available on the Glamour Doll Eyes website. I do hope they will be coming back sometime soon, however I know the lovely Mel (Vee's partner in crime) is amazing and does work hard to get the glosses just right. If I'm not mistaken she had been working on some new colors as well. So maybe when they are available again...we will see some new additions!

Overall I really liked this look, I felt it was a nice easy and semi neutral look that can be worn day or night. I did like it so much, that I filmed this look as a tutorial...so it will bed edited and up very soon on my channel!!

Until next posting!

XOXO

Glamour Doll Eyes Fix for this week

Another day...another surprise in the mailbox! I was so excited to open up this bad boy...my order for the Limited Edition Halloween Set 2 from Glamour Doll Eyes. This actually was my original first Halloween Set ordered...however I received it second.

Now this is what is screwy out of the postal service that we have here in Germany through our military base. This item was shipped out on October 1st (which I ordered on September 25th...however I not only chose to purchase the Halloween collection...so I had to wait until the other items I had included were ready as well). In the meantime I had purchased my Halloween Set 1 and received it before this set (posted earlier this month). So needless to say, I was thrilled to received my lovely package, October 12th.

In no way do I blame Vee for the delay of my package...it still got out fast, considering all the orders that she has been receiving recently. Plus I was aware of the fact that with adding any additional items (other than lashes) would cause my order to take longer to be sent out. Besides the fact that Columbus day (made the guys get a long weekend) and our base having a base wide meeting on the Friday before the holiday didn't help my cause!

Like last time, it came in the lovely little black with orange star mesh bag. Two business cards and a sticker...besides an additional plastic baggie that held my additional purchases, which were two eyelight samples (and I received two sample shadow baggies as well).

Looking at the Glamour Doll Eyes website I notice that this particular set is no longer available to purchase, which makes me even happier in the fact that I have it. NOT trying to brag...just I'm glad I spent my money on something unique!

Anyways, this Halloween set 2 comes with a total of 4 scare shadows (eye shadows) which cost me $16.00...keeping in mind that I am getting full sized products (normally $6.00 for full size shadows)...I'm saving $8.00 by getting this entire set. Also the fact that it is limited edition and now no longer on the website...makes this price a steal!!!
I do love the fact these colors even in the jars they are so bright and pretty...I seriously couldn't wait to get my lovely and trusty ELF eyeshadow brush (it's what I use when I swatch), my ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer (cause if the color looks good on a inexpensive eye base...imagine on a higher price point one) and my travel size MAC Fix +

So without further delay, let's get to some swatches and descriptions of this awesome set.
For the breakdown of the color it will be posted my personal description of the colors and the official description from the website will be noted by (*).

Satan's Sheets - Interesting name...and ubber unique color! Since I own most of Vee's line I can actually say I have not seen a white shadow in any of her lines (yes, even including the Twi-shadows) like this. This color is so pretty, the best way to describe it is a pearl white with TONS of multi-colored shimmer (purple, blue, pink, gold...well this is what I see on my skin).

When Satan's Sheets is blended out dry it takes on more of a pearlistic pink color. Getting it wet...OMG it is so pretty. I could stare at it all day!!!
This color will be a great highlight and inner tear duct (eye brightener). Though I could imagine a pretty pin up look using this for the lid...I think I have an idea for a look using it!!!
BTW this color is one of my two FAVORITES from this set.

*Satan's Sheets - is a satiny white with lots of red sparkle
This is approved for Eyes, Lips, Face & Nails

Infections- Metallic Orange Rustic color with a bit of shimmer, I would say it was more like a satin based shadow. The shimmer appeared to be goldish hue. It's too bad this color is Limited Edition, I don't think there is any other permanent shadows in Glamour Doll Eyes quite like this.
Infectious is very pretty dry and blended out...it is actually really great color for the fall season. Reminds me of the colors of the leaves that are on the trees outside my front door. When this color is wet..again something so marvelous to look at! It totally reminds me of a brand new Copper Penny.
This would make a great lid or liner...and definitely a fun nail polish!

*Infectious - dark burnt orange with black undertones and red/gold shimmer
This is approved for Eyes, Lips, Face & Nails

Teenage Witch- Metallic Forest Green with black undertones and LOTS of shimmer (gold & green). I do believe there is another color in the permanent line that is quite similar to this color (Twi-shadow Big Brother)...the only major difference is the underlying black tones.

Random Thought- I have noticed the influence of black undertones to shadows this fall season and I'm all for it!!! Just saying!!!

When blended out Teenage Witch becomes a pretty greenish black that would make a great smokey eye. When it is wet, total POP of GREEN color!!!! I can see myself using it over a black base as well...to really make the green stand out more.
This would look pretty on the lid, crease and as a liner.

*Teenage Witch - dark grayish green with gold sparkle
This is approved for Eyes, Face and Nails.
This is NOT approved for Lips

Undead- to DIE for burgundy/dark purple with black undertone. Again reminds me of a satin shadow though it does have a bit of sparkle to it (sparkle is golden).

Now this color does remind me alot of Just Bitten from Twi-shadows, however it is a deeper purple and the black undertone makes it different.
FYI, I love Just Bitten...and I totally love UNDEAD!!!

When blended out Undead has that pretty metallic purple/burgundy. Applied wet....yeah I'm in Purple satin heaven, it does take on a more plummy purple.

It will be great anywhere you want to put it... lid, crease, nails, and lips. I could see this being an awesome lip color for Halloween or if you wanted to play around with going Goth for a day.
This is my other FAVORITE color from the set...but I do have a thing for purples.

*Undead - black with red undertones/sheen
This is approved for Eyes, Lips, Face & nails

Final thoughts of my swatches verses official descriptions: I was dead on for some color...and sadly pretty off for one my favorite colors..don't know how that really works but whatever!!

I'm very very happy to have this set in my Glamour Doll Eyes Collection. I think having both..as greedy as that sounds is the only way to go. I do believe there are great colors in both sets...and there are alot of fun looks that can done combining both.

While Halloween Set 1 has more shimmery shadows, Halloween Set 2 has more satin based shadows...which I think Shimmer and Satin (with Graveyard...the matte from Halloween Set 1) are totally meant to be together!!!

I am also including pics of the other items I purchased along with the set..which were two eyelights (glitters). Keep in mind, there are two sizes you can purchase for shadows and eyelights on the Glamour Doll Eyes website. I paid $2.00 for each sample size of these glitters (in jar form...as you can also get sample baggie size).

Photobucket
Ditzy - is a pretty medium pink glitter (that I think I might use in a Katy Perry look). The color really reminds me of Bubble Gum.

Photobucket
Monster Mash- Olive Green/Black multi colored glitter (lots of green, orange and red glitter all throughout this). Definite great color to use for Halloween.

Photobucket

And as usual (which I love BTW) whenever you make a purchase with Vee you get two samples.
Photobucket
I already have a full size jar of After Prom, so I'm going to set it aside to put into a swap or love package for someone else. However, I don't have Just Dance, thus I will be keeping it for myself!

Hope you have enjoyed this very long blog posting. I hope to do another FOTD using some shadows from this Halloween set next!

XOXO

FOTD: Glamour Doll Eyes Halloween Shadows with a Twist

Saturday was a lazy day (kinda for me). Slept in, bummed around the house, made a few batches of chips for a surprise birthday party that I was requested to attend.

Mind you, I didn't give myself enough time to really be creative when it came to this look. I would consider it one of my randomly thrown together looks...however I felt pretty confident it looked nice. And I did get complimented on it twice at the party..once by the birthday girl. The second by another mommy who was in attendance (which she is actually going to be having a makeup class/session with Cookie...not this Monday but next).

It truly proves even more how small the base we are stationed is, plus that there are still tons of women who haven't found the glories of YouTube! ha ha

Anyways, all my cute lower cut shirts were air drying (as I had done laundry too..) so I decided to rock my awesome Nerds Gone Wild Shirt (that I got from Walmart when I was back in the states this past May). Considering this shirt is bright pink with rainbow colored nerds on it...I figure I could get away with a more fun look.

I already knew I wanted to rock some of my Glamour Doll Eyes Halloween shadows...so I picked the most appropriate colors from the Halloween Set (check my blog posting from earlier for swatches) to go with my bright shirt. Thus Bruised and Graveyard made their first appearance in my FOTD!!!
PhotobucketFor accessories I chose to make the color from my eyes again pop in my outfit, hence the purple pearl stud earrings. Sadly, I don't have a matching necklace...so I pulled out an old dark wooden necklace (that my Ex Boyfriend's mom had gotten me on her vacation down to Mexico).

This was a later in the afternoon into the evening birthday party so I figured doing a little bit of a dark smokey would be okay. However, I didn't want to use black...I just wasn't feeling it (at least for anywhere but my upper lash line) so I decided to play with my Maybelline New York Collection Silver Glitter Eye Pencil on my lower lash line (this particular item is from a collection by Maybelline that is only sold in Europe at the moment... tentative release of these items in the States is middle of 2011).
Photobucket
I placed MAC's Fascinating Eye Kohl in my waterline to keep the eye bright and open looking. Since I didn't do a dramatic liner and the Maybelline Silver Glitter Liner was pretty bright...I just thought it would overall look better to have a light color in the waterline.
Photobucket

For the eyes itself, I got Bruised wet and applied it all over the lid. Graveyard went into the crease, however I used just the tip of my MAC 217 into the pot as I didn't want it to overpower or take away from Bruised! Might I just add, Bruised is AMAZING! True there is a ton, I mean a TON of shimmer (which I did have quite a bit more fallout than usual, compared to my other GDE's...but that is what make up wipes are for).

As a highlight, I was a bit torn...as much as I wanted to do a nice pretty neutral color (like Bare Naked) or a pretty white (Angels Wings or Twi-Shadow Family Secret). I thought it would be fun to tie in the pink from my shirt so I tried out Prom Dress and I thought it went perfect. Prom Dress is a nice soft pink sheen with a slight purple tint, that just complimented Bruised being on the lid.

*Prom Dress - a light pink, almost purple with gold, blue, purple and greenish shimmers

Photobucket

To finish off the rest of the face I continued to play different shades of pink through the rest of the face. Using NYC Creme Blush Stick in Wild Berry, with a swatch of NYX Pinky Blush on top to set (I prolly am crazy for thinking that a creme blush needs to be set with a powder blush...but I think those two colors together are very pretty). My Hard Candy Baked Blush in Pin Up was the highlight on my cheek.

For lips, I wanted to use a funky bright 80's lipstick that Cookie had given to me (with her working the Estee Lauder counter at our exchange...it's been pretty easy to get free goodies). So I lined my lips with NYX Lipliner in Pinky and filled in the lip with Dolly, Electric Intense LipCreme by Estee Lauder. Final touch was my second favorite Glamour Gloss from the lovely Mel, Socialite.

So that ends this FOTD entry, I need to start thinking of my next entry!!! he he

Thank goodness for the long weekend, I think I'm gonna try and practice again on Joe for his Halloween costume...though I'm only allowed to post it on my blog and twitter....at least until after Halloween.

XOXO

Time for some Glamour Doll Eyes

If you didn't know I have a bit of a soft spot for
Glamour Doll Eyes. And if you were to ask me, "Lo what do you mean?" I would merely respond back to you..."Have you seen my drawer". ha ha

One of these days I will do an updated makeup collection/storage video and you will fully understand why I would ask the above question. But just to give ya a hint, I moved stuff around and Glamour Doll Eyes has its own drawer. (Though I think by the end of this year 2010, I will have to switch things up again..and give myself a new "bigger" drawer).

Anyways, the awesome, wonderful and dear to me, Vee released two Limited Edition Halloween Sets on Glamour Doll Eyes (surprisenly enough there are still sets available on the website...which shocks the heck out of me). Just because I thought there were many of us GDE junkies out there in twitter and YouTube land, who buy a collection as soon as they are released...guess some people aren't getting the memos. Or people are forgetting the most important point to Limited Edition collections, that once they are gone....they are GONE!

Of course, I placed an order...to tell the truth I placed two orders...the first time was when Vee did a pre-release of the Halloween sets (before the scheduled October 1st release date), which I decided on Halloween Set 2. However, once the 1st got closer (and after referring to my fellow love, Lorris blog and haul video...plus random twitter conversation). I just had to get the Halloween Set 1 as well.

PhotobucketI placed my order for this Halloween Set 1 on September 29th and received it in my mailbox on October 7th. Considering that bad boy had to come all the way to Europe (plus deal with weekend), I would say that is some FAST shipping! But then again, that is what I love about Vee, even with all the orders that she is constantly getting for GDE's..she is still able to get out her products quick. And it always feels like Christmas when I see my GDE envelope in my mailbox.

Photobucket
The packaging for this collection is so cute, not only is the mesh starred bag a great theme for the fall/Halloween time...but it can totally be reused later on. I'm thinking it's either going to go into my gym bag for holding my jewelry (cause I don't like to wear any when I workout). Or I will throw my favorite shadows in there and take it with (if Joe and I go somewhere for a getaway weekend).

What is also unique about these Limited Edition colors is the actual label itself, verses it being the usual pink stating "Glamour Doll Eyes shadows" it is orange and states "Glamour Doll Eyes Scare Shadows".

PhotobucketJust looking turning the jars over to take a picture of the product was very exciting. When I received these shadows, I refrained from opening them up until I could give them them proper time and attention. But just look at those colors, GORGEOUS no?

There are a total of 3 eyeshadows and 1 eyelight in Halloween Set 1...this making it a total of $15.00 for the set (considering a full size jar of GDE is $6.00, while an eyelight is $4.50, you are getting a deal..saving $7.50).

Now that I have given you the jest of what you are missing out on (if you haven't checked out Glamour Doll Eyes, I suggest you stop reading...go look at the website and if nothing catches you attention..well then...call me a monkey's Uncle). I will show you the rocking colors from this lovely set.

How this will work is I will post pics of the products (in their jars), pics of swatches, give you my description of the color and then the site's official description will be marked with (*).

Photobucket
FrankenGlamour - a beautiful bright limeish green color with a ton of of shimmer (shimmer appears to be golden).
Photobucket
#I had issues with pictures when posting it to my Blog. I use Photobucket to edit and add text, but it didn't want to do it on this one! Top swatch is FrankenGlamour Wet, bottom swatch is dry.

When you get this color wet, OMG, that is when the gold shimmer really pops. I don't doubt this will make a great lid color, or even a great nail polish color for Halloween Night.

*FrankenGlamour - is an almost lime green with gold undertone. This color offers more of a sheen than shimmer.

Photobucket
Bruised - lilac purple with TONS ( I mean TONS) of shimmer (shimmer is mostly blue and a bit of purple). So far this is my FAVORITE color of the whole set. I know it has been a BIG hit overall, with other beauty bloggers and customers. I recall Vee mentioning on twitter that she might introduce this color into the permanent line, though don't quote me on that...only time will tell if this does happen.
Photobucket
This color is just amazing, has a very light purple sheen with applied dry...but wet...OMG! Bruised is just a mental and eye-gasm (oh yes, I did say that). When I applied it wet to my skin, not only did the blue shimmer pop 10x's more...but it played tricks on my eyes! Depending on the lighting, and angle of how I held my hand. Bruised appeared purpleish one way, blueish another...but no matter what...the shimmer just kept my eye on my hand! I think this color will look amazing on any skin tone, as well as any place it is put (lid, crease, highlight, liner, nail polish, hell even lips).

*Brusied - is a darkened purple with black undertones and gorgeous aqua sparkle

Photobucket
Graveyard - dark matte heather grey. I just happened to be wearing a shirt this color when I played with these...I swatched my hand. Look at it...looked at my shirt and laughed.

Photobucket
#Again Photobucket and BlogSpot don't get along, as I see the text in Photobucket but it won't appear here. Top swatch is Graveyard wet, bottom swatch dry

Now, I'm not much of a matte shadow lover..I honestly prefer pretty shimmery shadows. However this matte is a nice addition to my collection, it will be a great crease color to use for a smokey look (or dead look for a halloween costume). It does remind me alot of Urban Trash (another matte GDE)...however Graveyard is grey while Urban Trash is black.

Can I point out here, that you can spell the color grey two different ways?! ha ha I normally use grey but apparently you can also use gray. The things we learn while blogging!!!

*Graveyard - is a matte dark gray.

Photobucket
Zombie Date Night- the eyelight (glitter) out of the whole set is a combination of red and black glitter (with a black undertone).
Photobucket
#Yet again text was not in the pic. The top swatch is dry, while the bottom swatch is wet

Zombie Date Night reminds me of combining Fierce and Little Black Dress (other eyelights of GDE) together. Considering I just recently fell in love with the glitters from GDE (plus I found a great way to foil the glitter to get it to really stick to the lid...thank goodness for Sally Girl's Glitter Adhesive). I think this is a fun glitter to have for Halloween.

*Zombie Date Night - is a black, red and orange Eye Light (glitter).

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase..I'm still waiting on receiving my Halloween Set 2...I don't know if it's my post office that is lame...or if it is the one in the states. Plus I haven't decided yet, if I'm going to keep set 2 or use it for a giveaway...lol. Decisions Decisions!

Anyways, I hope you found this rambling interesting...I'm planning on doing a FOTD using some of the this set very soon!
