One of my favorite videos to film are unboxing videos, so it was only appropriate that I received a beauty box from Lalia London, which is a homemade 100% natural skin care beauty box.

The Box included a small tote with the companies emblem, which is great because it is just the right size for traveling with my skincare products when I am visiting family (and spending the night).

It makes it really a great item to get for family or friends and shipped directly to them.

I cant wait to dive into the products, especially with the end goal of trying to be cruelty free from 2020 within my make up collection and skincare. Keeping Organized while on the Go

I have really come to love the INNX products when it comes to keeping my car organized and clean. I have used their seat covers and cargo liners, their cargo nets, a pet barrier between my front seats to block the space from kids or critters. And today I put in a backseat organizer in the back. I have it hanging over the back seat  SUV, since the back seats typically lay flat and we use the space for cargo instead. 

It is thick canvas like material that is strong and durable. It wipes clean easily in case it gets dirty, which happens a lot in my car. It has clasps and straps to allow you to hang it around the headrests in your car. You can adjust them so they hang right. There are additional straps for helping to secure it and keep it in place, but I am not using those. I simply have it hanging around my headrests right now and it works great.

I am loving having it in the 4Runner now and it is working wonderfully for me. It is nearly impossible to access from the back of the car when I open the back up, requiring me to crawl in and reach things hanging there. But it is perfect for easily reaching over the seat when sitting inside or having the side doors open. I love having the extra storage space to stick the baby wipes and barf bags I always carry when we go anywhere!

I love my fur baby and as beautiful as he is, trying to keep his fur at bay..both clean and tangled free can be an issue. Most of the year, as being in So Cal (weather is nice) he is mostly shaved down or trimmed down so that we dont have to deal with his fur. However, in the winter we let his coat grow out and as nice and warm as he is, he leaves hair everywhere! 

Thus, we made the decision to add a new Brush into his grooming routine at home.

The wonderful combo of a glove and a brush, easy to use that even a child could do it. Yes I will baby sit your child, will he/she pet and brush my dog? 

Teddy is a bit nervous originally when we made the switch, but as time has gone along he has gotten use to it. I personally recommend this verses a handled brush, especially if your pet is a little more skittish or sensitive to being brushes. 

If your dog cringes every time you get out the brush then this mitt you wear on your hand is sure to calm and soothe them because it feels a lot like they are getting petted and babied by you. This mitt has metal pins that get rid of shedding. At the great price, you might want to keep two around. The back of the glove is mesh which allows for good air flow while you are grooming. Some pet owners use this mitt to help massage in shampoos and conditioners for better effectiveness.

I recently decided it was time to get a new watch, as I wanted to not have the infamous Fit Bit HR tan as well as I wanted something a different.

How to fight the Fall Cold in Southern California

Living in Southern California does have its perks, however one of the downsides is when it becomes fall. The morning starts off cool, normally requiring a long sleeve or even a light jacket. It gets warm my late morning to  middle of the afternoon. And then as soon as the sun starts to set, it gets cool and fast. 

Where I live in the mornings its in the low 50s and one morning I woke up last week it was high 40's

Being on the go and regularly having to do most of my communication via my cell phone, it only seemed fitting that I would finally invest into a truly wireless Bluetooth Headphone/Ear Bud.

Honestly it kinda reminds me of the new thing they are offering for Apple users, tho this is so much smaller to it's harder to tell if Im using it or not (good and bad thing).

I am an Android user, so it easily connected to my phone and the sound quality is great. I couldn't be happier with it. It is a little odd that it is only on one side, it's something I have slowly been adjusting to. It's a little easier to get distracted by things in my other ear..but receiving calls is super easy and perfect to hear. And I have even used it to play music on it as well...if a certain song gets stuck in my head and I can't shake it.

The portable case is nice, because I am a bit of a clumsy person and so I can easily destroy something super small and super delicate..but with the case the likelihood of that happening lowers (hugely..I know I can be such a dork).

Overall I would get this wireless, bluetooth Headphone an A+ and I would recommend it to any of my friends and family :)

Traveling made so much easier

I do not consider myself a traveler..but looking at my calendar the past 6 months, I have definitely been on the go. Though an upcoming trip will be alot longer in the air (ie 13+ hours...going to Europe).

The biggest issue that most people have when on a plane, besides of course being uncomfortable and closed off from fresh air is being able to sleep. I am borrowing a family friends neck pillow and I have been lucky enough to recently receive a silk Travel Sleep Mask.

It's big, velcro back to make it easy to adjust and super soft. Although I am not a blue color fan, it is  a pretty royal blue and definitely keeps the light out. 

I actually can not wait to use it, though trusting my luck by the time I am ready to use it...we will be descending down to our final destination. Just happens to be my luck. 

I have other sleep masks, those that have the elastic band on the back and those are never quite comfortable because they make the material in the front bunch a bit by the eyes. And if you ever tried those that tie...the knot never seems to stay and can be uncomfortable to lay on (the back of your head). I am truly impressed with the velcro backing...it honestly feels like I was wearing nothing the other day, when I wanted to take a cat nap and the room, even with the curtains and blinds closed was still a little bright. (I need full darkness whether day or night, to truly be able to fall asleep).

Electronics that Make my life easier Part One

I love music, one of my favorite things to do when it's time to clean house or time to get ready for a date night. Pop on my Pandora, turn on my blue tooth speaker and let the music play through as I go about my business.

My boyfriend is currently using an old bluetooth speaker I have, it's about 3 years old so that particular brand has already released several editions since then.

I recently got the AncordWorks speaker and am super impressed with the sound quality, as well as I am super stoked about the addition perks. Biggest thing, it is so much lighter than my original speaker and this one is waterproof, which is good because I have has had to be super careful with my other one when I was outdoors and using by a pool, or if weather wasn't too great and it started to rain (i use to teach outdoor yoga on a roof of a hotel in downtown San Diego.

I am truly happy to have a new speaker and one that works so well! Definitely wont be leaving my home without AncordWorks speaker when I know I will be playing music!

Beating the Heat!

DIY: Office Desk into Tv Stand

Last night was our first night home from an adventure to the wonderful Midwest and apparently the man was inspired to do a small home project. 

For a good chunk of the year we have had the tv in the back room, which we called the den that has his computer and a loveseat. Pretty much he would fiddle on his computer, doing homework while I watched tv. Or we would sit together and veg out watching whatever seemed like a good idea at the time. And since it';s mostly him and me we didn't think it too big of a deal.

With the summer months although the back room is cool, it's not nearly as cold as the living room, which is where we spent most of our time as of the past few months with the AC going. So we would watch Netflix or amazon prime on one of our laptops and cuddle and struggle with sound and vision.

Thus came his brilliant idea yesterday of moving the tv in the living room, in front of our fireplace and making the decision to not have a fire this winter...which really is okay with me...at least this year. 

We made a trip to Salvation Army and found a desk with drawer for 20 bucks. And he thought it would be perfect as our tv stand because the tv needed a little lift.

Who doesn't want whiter teeth? I know I sure do.

I've strived to achieve a mouth full of whiter-than-white ivories all of my life.

I now have decently white teeth, but getting there was only half the battle. Maintaining them is a whole other beast.

The irony had it not been the recent change of shifts for work for the man, I wouldn't have actually made the decision to pick these up. Currently we are on exact opposite schedules, when I am up for the day and at work or school. He is sleeping and vice versa, oh the joys of adulting.

Due to this reason, I found it difficult to get dressed or feel confident in picking out my outfit for the day, as I was using my cell phone light. Or using the light from the open bathroom door window, hoping that the light itself coming into the room and giving me a small view of my closet side wouldn't wake up.

Hence why the closet light is a huge success and totally worth the money spent on it. I can literally push a button and the light that I attached above the center of my closet shelf turns on, with two different levels of low or high. So that I can see into closet and decide on what I should wear that day.

Having the remote makes it easy as well, with a push of the button from across the room. I don't have to worry about waking up the man, and the light is bright enough that I can actually make my way across the room (from the other side) without tripping over our dog (or anything else that happens to be in the way of me walking around.

Feet are important

Recently I have been on a stricter budget due to the boyfriend being out of town for work (traveling) so I have had to cut back some of the luxuries that I did get to enjoy with him. Once a month sometimes every 3 weeks, we would go to the nail salon together and get pedicures.

Considering he wears boots suffers from ingrown toe nails, I understand why he does. For me, being a yoga teacher I wear flip flops quite a bit and no shoes, while in the yoga studio class room or gym class room. So I have really tough calluses that I have to combat with.

The one issue I have with going to the nail salon is they do what they can to make my calluses go away, but my feet only stay soft for the max 3 days if I remember to wear socks and shoes more regularly.

So I spend, well rather he spends as it tends to be his treat to me, 20 to 29 bucks (especially if we get the calluses remover spa package) and it doesnt last very long

Thus I did a little research and some amazon shopping and found this duo that allows me to take care of my own feet at home for a great price. I already have a foot spa at home, more often or not I get a little lazy and prefer to have someone else do the hard work of callsus remover and cutting my toenails.

With the purchase of the double side callus remover I figure I could try it out myself and see how I did. Below is the items I used to make my own spa night earlier this past week. I also did a 7 day foot peel that I had purchased on Amazon as well in addition to a foot soak and scrub with the tools. And I am happy to say it was a great night, both my feel were soft and I saved money!

I would highly recommend purchasing the duo, as it saves money and if you are like me with a busy schedule having to dedicate 60 to 75 minutes of my day to go get a pedicure is a bit annoying.

Pedi Pamper 7 day foot Peel

Being a Yoga teacher and living in southern California, not wearing shoes or socks and wearing flip flops is second nature. I have literally gone thru 2 pairs of flip flops is year so far, and am on my third pair currently.

Sadly, when I go get pedicures at the nail salons, they rarely last 2 days before my calluses appear their ugly head up...I have them really bad on my big toes and my heels (on both feet).

I decided to try the #Pedipamper 7 day foot peel, that I purchased on Amazon..I am currently on day 5 and now my feet are finally fully peeling and really ugly looking. I feel bad for the students in the front row of my yoga classes (I teach) or behind me in the yoga classes I take (as a student). Cause it looks like i got a bad case of ugly, crusty, foot fungus or something.

According to the box, it is normally day 3 or 4 that the feet start to peel. I think due to my feet being so tough, it only happened after I finally let my feet soak 30 minutes (which is 20 minutes more than the recommended 10). 

I also used an additional Item of a double sided Calluses remover to assist with getting the top layer of really tough skin off.

My overall thoughts on this product, is it does work, and it would be better for someone who doesn't have super thick or super tough calluses. If you do, I would suggest using it along with other feet treatments.

I have a charcoal foot mask I plan on using tonight to assist with making the peel continue and to make sure that my feet stay nice.

Recovery is a long progress

It has been 63 days since I first hurt my elbow, I have been randomly doing yoga since day 44, around day 30 is when I started back at Spin class. As my elbow wasnt bothering me as bad as it was. I believe rest, light stretching and acupuncture has helped me out alot. 

I recently just added the Furious Fit Wear Resistance Bands to my routine and doing some pretty basic resistant training to help strength my tricep (which I believe is what I have actually injured). 

I have included some pics of the particular way I was doing the exercise using the  band in order to work the arms, especially the bicep and triceps.

Here I had the band twisted into a figure 8 the top hand is pressing up while the bottom hand presses down. This works the tricep of the arm that is pressing up.

Here is a variation of Fly, starting the arms shoulder width apart, keeping the elbows at a 90 degrees, I press the arms away from each other, stretching the band. Again working the tricep, but also engaging the bicep and the chest. This is great for women who don't want to gain a lot of muscle but want to tone their chest besides their arms.

Again another tricep and bicep, top hand palm faced up and bottom hand palm face down. keeping the shoulders down away from the ears and engaging the core, pressing the top palm up as the bottom presses down. Very slow movement, allowing for full control. Then switch and repeat opposite hands.

Overall, I am very happy with my Furious Fitwear Resistance bands, they are a great tool on my road to recovery. From what I understand with any type of tear or major injury especially in muscles of the arms it's a slow road to recovery. So I am taking each day for what it is and using my bands, and resting when needed.

These of course can be used for all sorts of exercises for legs, glutes, thighs, and more upper body. I am just sharing a bit of what I use mine for. I would highly recommend everyone to have a set to add into their work out routine, especially to change things up.

Changing up the Skincare Game

In the past year of 2017,  I have been on a journey to find the best possible products and accessories to make my now 30 something skin, clean, hydrated and to fight as best I can Father time of using things to boost collagen levels so less wrinkles and more youthful skin.

The biggest thing that recently has changed in the past 3 weeks has been the addition of the Konjac sponge that i have been using to cleanse my face.

I also use the Konjac Sponge to wash off my make up, it is super easy to clean between washing make up off with an actual make up cleanser verses my normal face wash. I just place the sponge between my hands and lightly press my hands together which allows the sponge to wringle all the old wash out. I give it a good rinse before placing different wash on it.

What I think is interesting from this sponge, which I have seen others similar is that as it dries it gets hard and smaller. And as soon as it gets wet becomes soft and fluffy, similar to the make up sponge Beauty Blender.

Here in this picture you can see how large the sponge gets, this was right after a shower. 

Overall, I am very happy with the way my skin is looking using the Konjac Sponge, I feel like my pores are getting cleaner and I have noticed less break outs (which is great especially with this heat San Diego has been having).

If you use a regular wash cloth, I would definitely recommend trying this out and seeing if it works for you.

What do you take Traveling?

One of my least favorite things to do when getting ready for a trip is to pack for the trip...especially when it comes to beauty products, make up and toiletries. 

Ideally I try to take travel size items, anywhere from 1 oz up to 3 oz pending on what the item is and how long I am gone for. Most of the time it is my skincare products that I like to take the larger oz products as I use it both AM and PM. 

Here is what I am currently toting around in my Gym Bag of products, as I recently got a new Tolietry bag in the color blue which is fun. Normally I stick the regular standard black bag, tho this particular style was available in black (I just thought it would be good to try something different)

Why I enjoy this new bag is all the space and addition closed pockets and slots you can put your products into. I could geniuely take fuller size products and still have the ability to store smaller things (ie q tips, lip balm, cotton pads, etc).

The last point I want to mention is the fact it has a small hook, so I can actually hang this bag up and keep it more of eye level (access level) verses having to place it on a counter or on a bench. So there is a less likelyhood I will leave a product out of the bag ( I have lost or forgotten body washes and haircare because I placed it down out of my toiletry bag and didnt put it away).

I mean no matter what I am not a big fan of having to pack...but when you have something new and its fancy (ie you can store things the way you want and more space to take more). It makes the whole idea of packing and traveling a little more fun!

Dead Sea Mud Mask from Shiny Leaf USA

Shiny Lead Dead Sea Mud Mask is a US made product, coming from Las Vegas, Nevada..and the Dea Sea mud itself comes from Israel.

The jar is plastic, so it is reusable if you like to repurpose items

This also comes with a spatula (mini) that allows easy stirring, as the mask does seperate the water will be floating at the time. You can also use the spatula to apply the mask, I tried it the first time using the product but it was a bit hard to have a smooth application in all areas (especially around my nose and lips). 

I applied this the other night with a stippling brush verses the tool they supply because I wanted an even application. I think this is the best way to do so, as then you have more control of how much of the product you put over the skin. I decided to make my mask this evening, a medium thickness.

I left the mask on for 20 minutes, as it was thicker so it required a bit more drying time compared to a thinner layer across the skin. Something to keep in mind if you talk or wiggle your face alot, as the mask dries it will flake and leave little mud particles everywhere. So BEWARE

I made sure to include an After pic because I want you to notice the shiny of my skin. After I took this pic then I applied the rest of my skincare routine for the evening. My skin felt tight and my pores appeared smaller. However my skin also felt dry at the same time, putting my serum and lotion on afterwards felt really nice!!

 I would say that if you have dry skin, I wouldnt remind this mask that often. And if you do, make sure to follow up with a good moisturizer. 

If you have Combo (like me) to Oily skin, I would definately recommend this as it will make your oils stay at bay. Though it is still important to moisturize, I think 2 times a week would be the most I would recommend using it. Anything more and then you might start to dry out the skin.

Do you love the Moon?

I am very particular when it comes to pieces of jewelry and even more so pieces that I want to use on my table. Sometimes particular pieces will call out to me that I have to have them, and others like this Dark Moon Love necklace, I happen to fall upon. And in all honesty, I am quite glad to have done so.

To me it means I was meant to have it in my collection, which is why I have it placed at my table.

This necklace is a unique piece in my collection, and for my table, as the stone in the inside of the heart glows in the dark when charged by the sun. I tried artificial light and it doesn't work...only sunlight. I find this a bit ironic considering the name of the jewelry piece is Dark Moon Love.

The necklace chain itself is 18 inches long and 2 inches thick, so it rests nicely on the chest..not too low nor too high to where I feel like it is choking me (when I decide to wear it). 

I actually considered using it as a decoration to hang from my mirror in my car..but I feel that it has a place on my table. As you see in the picture above, I charged the necklace and it hangs around another decor that I have just above my table. (I forgot to take a picture of what is looks like when the bedroom light is on...whoops).

the other Night I wore the necklace to class, which was an Lunar Eclipse. I felt it was appropriate for the time, as I taught the class, the Moon and Heart lightly tapped against my chest. At the end of class I pulled from my deck of Power Thought cards at random and this was the card I pulled.

This is the second time I pulled this card, leading this class...and I have only pulled from the deck twice. So I believe it was the universe way of telling me or reminding me of something of importance. 

I thought I would share..and the Dark Moon Love necklace just wrapped up the entire evening perfectly. 

Tactical LED Pen – Full Review

If you read often, you know that I don’t post a whole lot of manly-man products round these parts… but because the mister loves multi purpose tools, I just had to review this super cool gadget that I picked up for him because I knew it would make him happy and be useful for when he is out and about.

Let’s dive right in:

Right from the beginning ordering and shipping was super easy.

I got this item on Amazon so, as usual, the shipping was lightening fast and hassle-free. It can be found here.

When It arrived, it came in this sleek, matte black box. The pen inside sits in foam bed to prevent damage and  mine arrived totally flawless.

The Tactical LED pen by Survival Hax is half Beauty and half beast.

The pen has some weight to it and is for sure a tad larger and heavier than your average ball point pen … but I would say that this is totally forgivable considering that it is not your average ball point pen!

For starters, this pen is extremely solid and well-made.

The end is interchangeable and functions as both a ballpoint pen and a self-defense kubotan or glass breaker. Inside the pen is a fire starter and the end is an LED flashlight. The top has a solid metal clip to hang the pen on a shirt, back pack, or brief case storage pocket.

All of the features the pen offers are fully functional making this Tactical LED Pen both  multipurpose and practical in one compact package.

I would say these are the perfect gadget for Father’s Day or for anyone interested in self-defense, the  great outdoors, or for your favorite dooms day prepper.
